James Blunt’s 1973
Today’s music video is James Blunt’s ‘1973′.
It’s a catchy tune, as you can expect from Blunt, who is ironically singing about a year prior to his birth.
The video was shot in the backlots of Universal Studios in Los Angeles.

Today’s selection is a very moody cover of ‘Running Up That Hill’ performed by Placebo.
Originally the song was released by Kate Bush in 1985 and did well in the UK charts. Placebo’s version was released last year after originally appearing on a bonus disc on 2003 album ‘Sleeping with Ghosts’.
I’m not sure what exactly is going on in the video, but it’s a great cover, and is ten times better than the original version.
Casting for Avril Lavigne’s videos must be a nightmare, as finding good dancers of a ‘certain size’ must be so challenging!
Unlike Avril’s hair, her music hasn’t evolved much since her earlier albums. This punk/rock song called ‘Girlfriend’ is catchy though, but can get rather irritating after a while. The video is good though, it’s just a pity that the bully doesn’t get her comeuppance in the end.
