I first heard this track on an advert late last year. It’s a cover of Pink’s ‘Get the part started’ sung by Dame Shirley Bassey.

Bassey - who looks amazing and sings better than ever at 70 years-old - is best known for singing the theme songs to James Bond movies ‘Goldfinger’ and ‘Diamonds Are Forever’.

Talking of Bond, this video has a James Bond feel to it, and serves the song well.

Ah, the irony! My last post I wrote about my hope that some day The Verve would get back together, well, they have!

It was announced on Richard Ashcroft’s official website a few weeks back that they’re back recording. I can’t wait to hear their new songs!

To celebrate their reforming, of course, today’s offering has to be from The Verve.

‘Lucky Man’ came in two versions, one video for the UK and one for the US. I’ve gone for the latter version, mainly due to the mountain top finale. Enjoy!
